Processing time is the length of time a seller needs to prepare your order before it’s dispatched. This is the period between when you place an order and when the seller posts it out to you.
For custom or handmade items, the processing time also includes the time it takes for the seller to make your order. For example, if you’ve requested a personalised engraving or a made-to-measure product, it may take a little longer than ready-made items.
Each seller sets their own processing times, and they may vary from item to item within the same shop.
Where to find processing times and delivery estimates
You can see the estimated delivery time before you buy:
-
Open the listing page for the item you’re interested in.
-
Scroll down to the Delivery and Returns section.
-
You’ll see an estimated delivery window, which factors in the seller’s processing time and the latest postal service delivery estimates.
If you’re ordering a gift
If you’re worried your order may not arrive in time for a special occasion, it’s always worth messaging the seller to check whether they can meet your deadline. Many island makers are happy to help if they can.
A note on local shopping
Because Wight Market focuses on Isle of Wight creators, many sellers can often get items to local buyers more quickly. If you’re based on the island, you may even be able to arrange collection directly with the seller — just ask them before you place your order.
